Gil F. Isbell

Republican Candidate for Alabama House District 28














Gil Isbell grew up in Etowah County, and the Isbell family has been a part of the community for many generations.  Gil believes it is time for him to give back to his community and serve the people of Etowah County in the Alabama Legislature.  House District 28 covers parts of Gadsden, Rainbow City Glencoe, Hokes Bluff, Attalla, Ivalee, Ridgeville, Egypt, Walnut Grove, Sardis City, and Boaz. 

Gil believes that government should play its role in society by providing our children with a quality education, addressing the infrastructure needs in our communities and ensuring that Etowah County is a place that attracts new businesses providing good paying jobs.  Gil is Pro-Life, Pro-2nd Amendment, supports President Trump’s fight against illegal immigration and the Opioid crisis that is destroying lives.  

Gil is proud to be a part of Etowah County; his father was the owner of Isbell-Hallmark Furniture Store in Gadsden, a mainstay in the community for 100 years.  After graduating from High School, he attended Gadsden State Community College, Auburn University and Jacksonville State University.  Gil works with both his brother and nephew who are dentists in Gadsden. 

Gil’s wife Syndee owns The Stone Market in downtown Gadsden, and their daughter Iris Ann is in the third grade in the Gadsden city school system.  Gil is the President of the Kiwanis Club of Gadsden, Secretary/Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Gadsden Foundation and he and his family attend First United Methodist Church of Attalla where he is Chairman of the Administrative Board.
